What is SVU?
Sound Valley U is the most unique and innovating way to experience the world of Pro-Audio, right from our studio campus in Phoenix, AZ. We also offer online availability for those who cannot attend in person. At Sound Valley U students get a direct insight into the world of recording, how to connect live sound equipment, and how to produce music. We provide a relaxing and comfortable environment, capping each class at a max of either 5, or 10 students. These are entry level courses, designed to provide you a direct line of sight into the audio world. If you would like to further your audio education, or go to a professional recording school, we may be able to help you find contacts to do so.
Recording Bootcamp
$600 / 10 Hours
Recording bootcamp students meet once per day for a 2 hour session, M-F for a 5 day intensive course covering Pro Tools software and mixing basics. Individuals will be able to navigate and use the software, & will record a complete song by the end of the week. Choose the time of day that works for you. 8-10am, 12-2pm, or 6-8pm. Bootcamp takes place during the FIRST week of each month.

3 Week Specialty Courses
$450 / 2 hrs per week for 3 weeks
Want to spread out your time at Sound Valley? Pick which specialty course you'd like to learn about, or attend all 3!
Mondays 6-8pm: Live Sound Set Up. Students will learn how live sound works, how to connect equipment, and operate a mock live show or concert.
Wednesdays 6-8pm: Recording Arts Class. Students will learn how to use pro tools software to record a song.
Fridays 6-8pm: Audio/Music Production. Students will learn the essentials of music and beat making and will learn to craft their own tracks.
Our specialty courses run through the Second, Third, and Fourth weeks of each month.

Basic Intro to Sound & Recording
$300 / 4 Hr Class & Lunch
After this 4 hour course, students will have basic knowledge of sound and how to record using Pro Tools. Students complete 2 hours of training in the classroom, take a 30 minute lunch break provided by one of our wonderful SVU partners, then break into groups of 5 to dive into the gear in either A room or B room. Our intro class meets on the SECOND Saturday of each month.

Slots are filled on a first come first serve basis. Scholarships and financial aid are available for those who qualify. All classes are capped at 5 students per session, with the exception of the Saturday Basic Intro classes, which are capped at 10 students.
